Small Business Technical Assistance Grant Program

Supporting Small Business Growth & Employment

The MGCC Small Business Technical Assistance Grant Program builds operational capacity and skills of organizations that are providing technical assistance, education, and access to capital to small businesses. The grant program strengthens ongoing business-development activities in underserved communities across the state.

This state-funded Small Business Technical Assistance Grant Program leverages community and economic development non-profits to help small businesses create and preserve jobs. The grants are awarded to community development corporations, chambers of commerce, and similar non-profits. They use the funds to provide crucial services, such as technical assistance, training in business skills, and access to financing, to their local businesses. In addition, we offer mini-grants, through our grantees, to small business owners with needs for professional, technical, and operational services.

FY2025 RFP

The Massachusetts Growth Capital Corporation (MGCC) is pleased to announce that it is accepting grant applications for participation in the Small Business Technical Assistance (SBTA) Grant Program for the Fiscal Year 2025 (July 2024-June 2025). MGCC is seeking proposals for technical assistance to underserved small businesses in Massachusetts. MGCC will accept applications from not-for-profit organizations that currently provide technical assistance and training programs to Massachusetts-based small businesses and start-ups under 20 employees.

For FY25, the SBTA Grant Program will include a streamlined application process for qualifying FY24 Awardees.  The streamlined process allows qualifying FY24 Awardees to complete a shortened application and recertification certain components of the FY24 application and Work Plan rather than submitting a traditional full application. Full details on this process will be found on Submittable and the RFP document.
