Attorney Neil Osborne, a long-time resident of the City of Medford, currently serves as the City’s Director of Human Resources. Atty. Osborne’s first appointment with the City of Medford started in July of 2017 when then Mayor Stephanie M. Burke appointed him the City’s Director of Diversity and Inclusion. At the start of 2020, newly elected Mayor Breanna Lungo-Koehn promoted Atty. Osborne to Director of Human Resources and tasked him with establishing a hiring department built upon the principles of diversity and equity. Prior to starting his municipal employment, Neil was an active community member serving on several local civic and non-profit organizations boards that included the Mystic Valley Area Branch of the NAACP (former Branch President), Medford Health Matters (former President), City of Medford’s Community Development Board, and the West Medford Community Center (former Vice President). Atty. Osborne closed his plaintiff’s employment practice of 20+ years at the start of his municipal career.
Neil earned a Bachelor of Science as well as a Master of Science degree in Labor Relations/Studies from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He earned his Juris Doctor from Suffolk University Law School.
